|Frequently Asked Questions
|How would you describe your photography style (e.g. traditional, photojournalistic, creative)?
We shoot a variety of photos. We like to grab a few traditional ones at the church or ceremony site. We also like to go outside and get
some fun and creative shots of the wedding party. Since there are two photographers we can be in the same spot and capture the
same photo in two totally different ways. If you have one that you prefer, we can definitely shoot with that in mind.
How far in advance do I need to book with you?
There is no correct answer to this. We have years that we book 1 1/2 years out, and other weddings booked within months of the
date. It really just comes down to the date. More popular dates should be book at least 9 months out. There is no real flow to what
dates will be the most popular, so as soon as you decide that we are the best fit for you, then you should book. We do have a
calendar online to keep you updated on days we are available.
Are you the photographer who will shoot my wedding? If so, will you have any assistants with you on that day?
Yes, I will be there to shoot your wedding day. My mother will also be present on the day, and occasionally we have an assistant that
will also have a camera and be snapping some shots. Since 2004, I, Amy, have not missed a wedding or event. My mother, Michelle,
has only missed two, one when she had severe flu, and the other she was in the hospital having her appendix removed. In both of
those cases we had no problem getting a backup photographer. We have a large amount of photographer friends that we can
contact when needed.
What programs do you use for editing?
We edit almost all of our work using Adobe Lightroom 4 & Adobe Photoshop. About 95% of what you see is done in Lightroom, and
we’ll sometimes throw a file into Photoshop to finish it off or do some cosmetic changes.
May I have a list of references?
YES, we do not hesitate to give you a list of brides, grooms, or even mothers of the brides or grooms that we have worked with. You
can also see our current rating and testimonials on Wedding Wire by clicking on the Wedding Wire link at the top of any page on this
site. We also have a testimonials page on our website.
How are my photos stored? Do you back those up too?
While we are at the reception we will begin the downloading process. This will allow that when we leave the wedding the photos are
still on the memory cards as well as on the computer. They will not be deleted from the memory chips until these photos are edited
stored and uploaded to our online proofing gallery. Once the editing process is complete and the photos are online, I make two more
copies of the final proofed images in high-resolution JPG format, one that I keep and one that is given to you if it is included in your
Can I give you a list of specific shots we would like?
We welcome a list, it is even better when you have someone there to monitor the list to make sure that people are where they need to
be and that we don't miss any of the groups.
What type of equipment do you use?
We shoot with Nikon Cameras. We have D800, D300s, D300, D80, also many Nikon lenses and flashes. We are constantly
upgrading our cameras and making sure we have the newest equipment. We carry backup cameras and equipment to all weddings.
Our wedding is over; what happens next?
Is it okay if other people take photos while you’re taking photos?
We do not mind of others take photos while we are taking them, and welcome them. Any photos that they take should be for personal
use and for enjoyment reasons only, not to be resold or used for their business. Also, for your knowledge, we have found that they
more cameras around the more likely people will be looking at other cameras than at ours, so we can not guarantee that everyone is
looking at the camera in our shots.
